The sad state of comedy films
The Comedy Awards, Comedy Central’s stab at becoming THE comedy authority and validator, taped Saturday night in New York. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Pete Holmes do a bad set. He’s just so goofy and affable that even if his material weren’t already great, it’d be easy to cut him some slack. But his material is great; he’s so attune to what makes him funny, and plays right to it. At the very least, watch the first “cool dad” bit and try not to crack a smile.
